Together we will read through the Bible in a year using the acclaimed Daily Bible and each week, during my Out of Zion podcast, we will review what we read that week. WEEK 1: THE WATERSHED MOMENT THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

In Genesis 1-11 we read about creation and the fall of man into sin. Then everything changes in Genesis 12 with the story of Abraham. The rest of the biblical story takes off from there. Exciting archaeological finds substantiate these stories. This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for February 1-7, covering Genesis chapters 1-19.

WEEK 2: RAW HONESTY OF THE BIBLE

The story of Abraham continues this week with the birth of Isaac and then the birth of Isaac's twins: Esau and Jacob. We will discuss the raw honesty of the biblical accounts. We will also warn against faulty interpretations of the Genesis accounts that have led to centuries of injustice and error. WEEK 3: JOSEPH'S PROPHETIC ROLE

Continue the story of Israel and his son Joseph in Egypt. Hear the stories in their cultural context and explore the amazing parallels between the story of Joseph and that of Jesus. GOING DEEPER IN WEEK 3: EVIDENCE OF JOSEPH IN EGYPT

This week we will discuss the phenomenal story of the Exodus. God saw the affliction of His people and raised up Moses to lead them to freedom. While the events described are miraculous, they also serve as an astounding foreshadow of the salvation and spiritual freedom brought to millions through Jesus. WEEK 5: GOD PROPOSES MARRIAGE 

God miraculously saves His people from bondage in Egypt and immediately proposes covenantal relationship to them. They accept, and He instructs them how to build a tabernacle so He can dwell with them. Our God desires fellowship with His people. This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for March 1-7, covering Exodus 25-40; Lev. 8-10; Numb 3,7,8.

WEEK 6: THE NECESSITY OF FAITH 

We continue our study this week of the Israelites in the wilderness. God begins to prepare them to enter the Promised Land only to discover they lack the faith required to conquer it. More time and painful lessons are needed. God has His ways and even uses a pagan prophet to bless His people. This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for March 8-14, covering Numbers 9-24.

WEEK 7: GOD'S LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE  

Join us this week for an important discussion about the very difficult question of how a loving God could call for war and destruction. WEEK 8: THE GOD OF CELEBRATION AND REST

This week we learn about the eternal principal of Sabbath rest and how it became the sign of God’s relationship with the people of Israel. The three Feasts of the Lord are not only for remembrance, instruction, and celebration but give us an overview of history and point to the coming age of Tabernacles. This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for March 22-28, covering various laws and Feasts of Israel.

WEEK 9: WHAT WE LEARN FROM THE LAW

Torah is often translated “law” but literally means “instruction” and includes the first five books of the Bible as well as the Mosaic law. What was God teaching the Israelites with the law? The Apostle Paul said the law instructed us on our need for Christ. Learn about the other important lessons found in the laws of Moses. This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for March 29 to April 4, covering various laws.

This week Susan discusses Moses’ renewal of the covenant with a new generation of Israelites after 40 years in the wilderness. Joshua then takes over leadership and it is finally time to enter the Promised Land! Are you ready to step into the waters with God and see Him deliver all He has promised?
