ICEJ: Remember the Children

Suzan and Lili Klein were only 9 and 7 years old when the Nazis moved them, along with their mother and the other Jews in the Bihar District of Hungary, from their hometown of Hencida to a small ghetto in the suburbs of Nagyvárad. They were settled on agricultural land in deplorable living conditions.

After weeks of starvation and suffering, Suzan, Lili. and their mother, Maitld, were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where they were all murdered.

This is the story of only two out of the 1.5 million Jewish children who were murdered in the Holocaust by the Nazis and their collaborators.

Now, the ICEJ is partnering with Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance and Education Center in Jerusalem, to ensure that the stories of children like Suzan and Lili are told through a new Family and Children’s Exhibition.

You can help us tell their story and leave a legacy of education for children of future generations.
