Iranian Leader Kicks of 'Quds Day' with Fiery Speech
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a fiery speech this week to mark “Quds Day” a holiday invented by the clerical leadership of the Islamic Republic in the late 1970s to protest against Israel's existence. “Support for Palestine and the resistance forces facing the Zionist Regime, and defending the independence and territorial integrity of the countries of the region, is a source of pride for the Islamic Republic,” Khamenei declared. “But our enemies try to castigate it as ‘Iran’s interference in the region.’”

“Some Arab governments have become the enemies of their own peoples,” he added. “In such a situation, passionate and devout Arab youth have the responsibility for destroying these ‘empty entities…participation in the (Quds Day) parade and defending the resistance of the oppressed and struggling Palestinian people, is truly an important step on the path towards building a better future.”

The slogans proffered by Iran’s clerical regime for the Quds Day events Friday are “Victory for the resistance front, defeat for the American-Zionist front” and “The Palestinian people are determined to return.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif recently sent an official diplomatic letter to several world governments, demanding that they compensate his regime for the economic losses they will suffer due to the US pulling out of the JCPOA nuclear deal and re-imposing sanctions. Zarif declared in the letter that "if, after the exhaustion of available remedies, our people's rights and benefits are not compensated, it is Iran's unquestionable right...to take appropriate action” regarding the economic fallout from recent events. He added that the recent statement by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo amounted to “bullying” that the world shouldn’t put up with.

"His threats of arm-twisting against other nations will make the world hostage to the economic and political diktats of this impulsive administration," Zarif said. "The specter of extreme unilaterialism is once against hovering upon the world, and we all should rise up and resist it."

Here is a video showing parts of another recent speech by Khamenei, which was broadcast live on Iranian TV stations
